About Me

My name is Haley Frey and I am a vision scientist!

Currently I am working with Dr. David Whitney at UC Berkeley towards a PhD in Vision Science. I am investigating the phenomenon of slow change blindness through the lens of serial dependence. See the research tab for more details about what I am interested in studying, and how I plan to go about doing so!

Before Berkeley, I worked with Dr. Jan Brascamp at Michigan State University to investigate cognitively-driven pupil responses. In another project, we designed a slow change stimulus set to probe the contents of conscious visual awareness. Check out our paper here!

Prior to MSU, I studied object recognition in humans and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with Dr. Frank Tong at Vanderbilt University. I graduated from Vanderbilt in 2021 with a BA in Neuroscience (highest honors) and minors in Psychology and Computer Science.
